Charlie is an extremely experienced mergers & acquisitions practitioner, with over 30 years of M&A experience, mostly with various global investment banks, working in Australia, SE Asia, South Africa and the UK.

He has experience across most industry sectors and has expertise in mergers and acquisitions, capital raisings, project finance and fund raisings across multiple geographies for listed and private clients.

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Arthur Andersen in the UK, Charlie joined Baring Brothers, working on M&A and equity capital markets transactions in the UK and Australia (with Baring Brothers Burrows).

He joined Macquarie Bank in 1998, spending ten years building and leading teams in Sydney, Kuala Lumpur and Johannesburg, where he set up Macquarie’s South African corporate advisory business.

He joined Investec Bank in Sydney in 2008 for four years and then spent five years from 2014 as a partner of EY, running their Sydney M&A team, before setting up Lewis Corporate Advisory.

Charlie has worked on transactions ranging from A$2 million to £2 billion and has a deep understanding of the key deal issues and likely stakeholder perspectives in all situations.
